About The Chef

Born in Le Locle, Switzerland, Chef Florian Wehrli grew up with an appreciation for fine French cuisine. He gained attention in the European gastronomic world by winning the Best Apprentice of Switzerland award in 1997. Ready for a change, he moved to the United States in the late 90s where he worked at various restaurants in New York City and Las Vegas, including a stint as head chef at award-winning restaurant Andre’s in Las Vegas. Florian now lives in Windsor, Colorado where he runs his local food friendly, restaurant/retail shop—Chef’s Basket. Billed as a 360˚ food experience where the diner is invited to observe all that’s going on in the kitchen, learn from the cooking classes offered, then buy locally-produced foods to take home and cook.

About Sunrise Ranch

People from around the world look to Sunrise Ranch as a place where the spirit of life is honored. As a conference and retreat center, thousands have had the opportunity to do their educational, transformative and contemplative work in the Ranch’s womb-like environment of safety and deep natural beauty. Sunrise Ranch is also a community of people who are personally dedicated to transformation and service. We delight in creating an atmosphere ideal for the renewal of body, mind and spirit.

The Ranch is one of the oldest non-certified organic farms in the state. Our 360 acres include a holistically-managed farm of organic vegetable gardens, fruit orchards and grass-fed beef. Alternative energy technologies, natural homebuilding and permaculture are also part of our stewardship principles.
