Grassfed Beef

Healthy Land, Healthy Animals, Healthy People

After 63 years of sustainable agriculture, 2008 marks the first year of Grassfed Beef sales. We purchase steers from local range-based cow-calf ranches, and let the cattle finish their growth on our irrigated pastures. Then we sell USDA-processed beef, either whole, 1/2, 1/4 or cuts, to local families and restaurants.

Why Grassfed?

We choose to raise Grassfed Beef because it builds the health of our land, our animals, and our people.

For the Health of Our Land…

By using cattle in our arid climate, we are mimicking Nature’s Template. Like the buffalo that roamed our plains in vast herds, our cattle will move often and leave behind them the richness of their manure. It stimulates the growth of many other species and the flow of water in our ecosystem. Grassfed Beef nourishes the land.

For the Health of Our Animals...

Cattle raised on pasture are eating the foods their guts are equipped to digest. By providing proper nutrition, the immune systems of the cattle are strong. Grassfeeding cattle nourishes their bodies…

For the Health of Our Bodies…

Grassfed Beef is high in Omega-3 fatty acids, has a high content of beta-carotene and has abundant vitamin E. Grassfed Beef nourishes our bodies…

Nutritional Benefits of Grassfed Beef

  • Grassfed beef contains 3-6 times the Omega-3 fat, compared with grain-fed beef. Omega-3 fats are important because they are associated with lower risks of cardiovascular disease, cancer, arthritis, Alzheimer’s disease and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
  • Grassfed beef contains 3 to 5 times the amount of conjugated linoleic acid, shown by scientists to help reduce risk of cancer, especially breast cancer.
  • Grassfed Beef produce meat with more minerals and micronutrients, including higher levels of vitamins. One study found grass-fed beef had four times the vitamin E of grain-fed beef.
