The Farm Internship

2008 marks an important year in the relationship Sunrise Ranch shares with the natural world. Our farm managers are ready to expand our experience of sustainability by learning about intensive rotational grazing systems using many species.

Great Vision, Great People

In the process of making these sustainable upgrades to our farm, we will be starting a farm internship program. The internship program will teach two processes:

  • The first will make space for interns to connect with the internal renewable energy source that is our inherent nature, and from which sustainable practices emerge.
  • The second process will teach methods and systems of sustainable farming.

As a Farm Intern you will have opportunity to continue developing individual sense of purpose, and spiritual expression and to reflect on your leadership and teamwork skills. Working at the farm will afford you the opportunity to learn about sustainable agriculture and its wide reaching impact on civilization, health, and ecosystems through hands-on work in the farm and garden and through class room sessions.

Program participants have the opportunity to be a visiting member of the Sunrise Ranch community, and to engage in the activities here. They find themselves surrounded by a community of love that supports vital spiritual change.

As a Farm Intern you will assist in:

  • Ethical raising of animals
  • Helping steward the gardening cycle, from planting to harvesting and delivering produce to our community kitchen.
  • Rehabilitating and maintaining buildings.
  • You will also have a project you vision and bring to fruition.

The Farm Intern position reports to the Farm Managers. It is an incredible opportunity to work with a team of people committed to environmental sustainability, community-building, and personal/social transformation.
