The Farm at Sunrise Ranch: Fresh Vegetables, Grassfed Beef, Permaculture design certification

Permaculture

Permaculture (permanent agriculture) is the conscious design and maintenance of agriculturally productive ecosystems which have the diversity, stability, and resilience of natural ecosystems. It is the harmonious integration of landscape and people providing their food, energy, shelter, and other material and non-material needs in a sustainable way." (Bill Mollison)

Sunrise Ranch has been a host to practicing Permaculture designers for over 20 years. We have two established permaculture areas, with another in construction/transition and are integrating more permaculture design into our existing traditional organic, small-farm layout.

In the growing season, our resident farmhand and certified Permaculture Design teacher Patrick Padden along with Bob Shine, an experienced bio-dynamic farmer, offer experiential education opportunities every Wednesday morning from 8:45am to Noon free of charge and open to the public.

RSVP before arrival by contacting Patrick at . For a more formal introduction to Permaculture, Sunrise Ranch will also be offering introductory seminars and design courses in 2010. Details TBA.
